Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta held a public hearing with UNISA Yogyakarta students entitled “SUARA” or Deliver Your Suggestions, Aspirations, and Recommendations, at Siti Moendjijah Building, UNISA Yogyakarta Campus, Saturday (23/11/2024). This activity is a democratic space for students to convey their aspirations.
“Today we (UNISA Yogyakarta campus) hear more from students. Listening is important for a better learning process,” said Vice Rector IV for Cooperation and International Affairs of UNISA Yogyakarta, M. Ali Imron, M.Fis.
Imron said that the campus will try to follow up as soon as possible what is the suggestion and input from students. However, Imron admitted that there are some things that may take longer.
“Sometimes the answer needs reflection. So we will routinely hold (public hearings), so that there is follow-up and evaluation. Every three months we will conduct this activity,” said Imron.
Imron invites students at every public hearing to submit input or ideas, for the improvement of the learning process at UNISA Yogyakarta. “We will facilitate you to become excellent students,” said Imron.
It is known that the internal public hearing initiated by the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of UNISA Yogyakarta with the title SUARA was the first time it was held. Previously, public hearing activities had also been carried out with external parties some time ago with the media crew.
In this public hearing , students expect a number of improvements to the facilities on the UNISA Yogyakarta campus. “Hopefully the facilities can be checked again, so that we who study are more comfortable,” said student representative from the Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences and Humanities (FEISHum) UNISA Yogyakarta, Nurmala Devi Lestari.
A number of other inputs submitted by students were related to improving comfort in the environment around UNISA Yogyakarta, then there were also inputs related to the implementation of teaching and learning activities. The publichearing held this time was interactive. Some complaints submitted by students have also received solutions. In addition to student representatives, the hearing was also attended by University Leaders, Faculties, Heads of Study Programs, Heads of Work Units within UNISA Yogyakarta.
Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Alumni, Islamic Religion, Kemuhammadiyahan, UNISA Yogyakarta, Prof. He also suggested that in the future there should be recommendations. “Encourage good recommendations, for prevention (things that are not good), and for improvement (good things). Improvement for all of us,” he said.
