Inovasi digital

News, News

In the era of globalization marked by the sophistication of information technology, efficient system integration is key in improving the quality of health services. In the Blueprint for Digital Health Transformation Strategy 2024, one of the proposed solutions is the transformation of manual recording systems into digital innovations to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of health services in Indonesia.

Students of the Master of Midwifery at Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta in collaboration with students of the Technology and Information Study Program have formulated an innovation in the health sector through a series of Health Education and Service Information System Practice activities carried out (activity date) for the practice period May 27 – June 21, 2024 at PKU Muhammadyah Gamping Hospital Yogyakarta. This innovation proposes the integration of midwifery care and e-Partograph into the Smart’s Medical Record (SMR) system of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital, which aims to improve the quality of midwifery care and strengthen interprofessional collaboration in the hospital.

This proposal stems from the need for a more efficient and effective system in documenting and monitoring maternal and fetal health during labor. Currently, PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital does not have a feature in the SMR that is specifically designed and developed for obstetric care. So far, midwives in the hospital have been using an EMR that focuses more on nursing care standards, making it less suitable for midwifery-specific needs. Seeing this gap, UNISA Yogyakarta students, with the support of lecturers and health practitioners, designed and proposed a childbirth midwifery care module integrated with e-Partograph.

The proposed integration of midwifery care into the electronic medical record (EMR) system at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital includes the development of features specifically designed to meet the needs of midwifery practice and follow midwifery standards. These digital innovations include specific features such as SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) assessment, labor progress notes, as well as electronic monitoring of labor through the e-Partograph. The development of the e-Partograph enables electronic recording and monitoring of labor, so that midwives can systematically record and monitor the progress of labor. These features are expected to not only facilitate detailed and accurate recording of midwifery care, but also provide more support to midwives in providing quality midwifery services at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital.

This proposal is expected to increase midwives’ work efficiency, speed up the documentation process, and improve data accuracy. In addition, the included e-Partograph feature allows midwives to monitor the progress of labor more systematically and accurately, so as to make more informed and rapid clinical decisions. This not only improves the quality of midwifery care but also supports more effective interprofessional collaboration at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital.

This innovation proposed by UNISA students is a strategic step in supporting more modern and quality health services, and opens opportunities for other hospitals to follow suit in utilizing technology to improve the quality of health services. By integrating midwifery care into the EMR, PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital can utilize technology to provide better, faster, and more efficient services to patients. This initiative also strengthens the autonomy of midwives in providing health services, which ultimately has a positive impact on maternal and infant health.

Pengembangan emr

News, News

The development of information technology in the health sector continues to progress rapidly. PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital, as one of the type B hospitals in Yogyakarta, has implemented an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system since 2017. In order to practice the Education Information System (SIPPKes) and Health Services (SIPPKes) courses, ‘Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta sent 9 students of Master of Midwifery Batch XI to develop obstetric EMR, 5 students developed the implementation of obstetric emergencies in EMR. While the other 4 students developed the implementation of the labor documentation format in the EMR of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital.

The practice field report prepared by second semester students of the Midwifery Study Program, Master’s Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta, who carried out practice on May 27 – June 21, 2024, revealed that the implementation of EMR at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital was not fully optimal. One of the main obstacles is the use of nursing care formats for midwifery medical records, which causes midwives to have to fill in several forms manually. This has an impact on the efficiency and quality of health services.

According to Fitnaningsih Endang Cahyawati SST. Bdn. M.Kes, field supervisor, full integration of midwifery care into the EMR system is needed to make it easier for midwives to fill in. According to Oki Wahyu Nugroho, S.Kom, SIMRS Coordinator of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping, the development of midwifery EMR is still hampered because there is no involvement of midwives in the development of midwifery care features in EMR, this involvement is very important to ensure that the system developed is in accordance with the needs of the field.

Midwives and the IT team at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital also recognize the need for innovation in the EMR system, including the addition of features to handle obstetric emergencies. The development of features such as recording patient symptoms, emergency treatment algorithms, and early warning systems can improve the responsiveness and effectiveness of medical treatment.

The management of PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital fully supports this development. This support is evident from their commitment in providing the necessary resources and complete internal regulations. Annual evaluation and continuous training for medical staff are also proposed to ensure the optimization of EMR usage.

The presentation of the EMR development innovation design was attended by field supervisor Fitnaningsih Endang Cahyawati SST. Bdn. M.Kes, 2 executive midwives, and 1 hospital training section. The results of the development of the midwifery EMR innovation design including the implementation of integrated obstetric emergency care in EMR received good appreciation from PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital and hopes that it can be implemented immediately.

With this development proposal, it is expected that the quality of health services, especially in obstetric emergency care, can improve significantly. A more comprehensive and efficient EMR system will support better clinical decision making, improve patient safety, and increase service satisfaction at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital.

Daging kurban 2

News, News

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah (UNISA) Yogyakarta distributed 2000 packages of sacrificial meat on Thursday (20/06) in the courtyard of Walidah Dahlan Mosque. This activity is part of the Eid al-Adha celebration organized every year by UNISA Yogyakarta and aims to help the surrounding community as well as UNISA students and online motorcycle taxis.

This year, UNISA Yogyakarta slaughtered 2 goats and 9 cows, while 17 other goats were distributed to several areas. The number of sacrificial animals is higher than last year’s Eid al-Adha celebration, showing UNISA’s commitment in increasing its social participation and contribution.

Prof. Dr. Mufdlilah, S.SiT., M.Sc, as Vice Rector III of UNISA Yogyakarta and the person in charge of this activity, explained that the sacrificial meat was distributed to the surrounding community, UNISA Yogyakarta students, and online motorcycle taxi drivers.

“We prioritize distributing the meat to the needy,” said Mufdlilah.

In addition, UNISA Yogyakarta also campaigned for plastic waste reduction in this activity. As in previous years without using plastic, the distribution of qurbani meat this time used Telobags, environmentally friendly bags, as a substitute for plastic.

“We distribute the meat without using plastic as in previous years to campaign for plastic waste reduction, and now we use Telobags,” added Mufdlilah.

To facilitate distribution and maintain order, UNISA ‘s qurbani committee also added a drive-thru collection system. “In addition, we also use certified slaughterers,” said Mufdlilah, emphasizing the importance of health and hygiene standards in the slaughtering process.

With these innovations and improvements in the implementation of this year’s sacrificial activities, UNISA Yogyakarta not only shows its social awareness but also its commitment to the environment. Mufdlilah hopes that this activity can bring blessings and benefits to the entire community.
